The pregnancy ball is a great tool both at the end of pregnancy, during labor, and after your baby is born.

During the third trimester, there’s less room in your belly for the baby. You can help your baby descend into your pelvis, while also easing your own pelvic pain. Exercises with a pregnancy ball are a natural and safe way to help your body prepare for birth.

When labor starts and contractions are strong, the pregnancy ball is a great tool. Often, you feel restless during contractions, and the ball can relieve you from standing without making you feel stuck. It can help loosen your pelvic muscles both before and during labor. You can sit on it and move your hips in figure-eights, lean over it, roll your hips, and use it for support. It's wonderfully soft and perfect to lean on while your partner massages your lower back. With a pregnancy ball, your belly can hang down while you relax your back. It can feel incredibly nice.

After birth, the ball is also genius if you have a fussy baby whoonlywants to be rocked in your arms. When your arms and legs start to feel like lead from pacing back and forth, you can sit on the ball and "bounce." Trust me, I’ve spent many late evenings bouncing on a ball in the living room.
