Cover for changing pad in 100% brushed merino wool 50x70 cm

It can feel chilly for baby to be placed on a cold pad and have their warm clothes taken off, but with a changing mat cover in 100% brushed merino wool, baby’s surface is always wonderfully cosy. The wool insulates immediately and nappy changes become even more snug. 

Natural, untreated wool has some truly special qualities. It keeps the temperature stable, absorbs moisture (up to 40% of its own weight without feeling wet!) while still being extremely breathable. 

The cover is made so that one side is fluffy wool like a sheepskin, while the other side is smooth. But unlike a sheepskin, there is no leather underside that limits washability. If an accident happens, the pad can be washed in the machine!

Tip: The pad is just as lovely to lie on in summer. Turn the fluffy side up when it’s cold, and the smooth side up when the weather is warmer.

The cover has elastic all the way around so it fits snugly and lies smooth.

Baby can easily lie directly on the soft wool, but we recommend a muslin cloth between baby and the changing pad. Not because the wool is scratchy, but simply to make hygiene easier. However, you don’t need to worry about accidents – unlike a regular sheepskin, this cover can be easily machine washed. 

The properties of wool also make the cover antibacterial, breathable and self-cleaning. Wool lasts for many, many years and is 100% biodegradable.

Tip: If a stubborn baby-poop stain appears on the pad and doesn’t come out in the wash, hang the pad out in bright sunshine and the stain will quickly disappear.
